D.D. Jackson is a multi-Emmy-winning jazz pianist, composer, producer, and educator. He holds a B.Music with High Distinction in Classical Piano from Indiana University and a Masters in Jazz/Commercial Music from the Manhattan School of Music.
He has recorded 14 albums as leader or co-leader (two on a major label), composed two operas with librettist George Elliott Clarke, and performed and recorded with prominent artists including Jack DeJohnette, James Carter, David Murray, and Questlove and The Roots. His television work includes five Emmy nominations and two Emmy wins (as composer and songwriter) for his writing on the PBS series "Peg + Cat."
Jackson is currently on faculty at NYU Steinhardt's Screen Scoring program and Brooklyn College's Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, and is a longtime contributor to DownBeat magazine.

She previously served as Publisher and Editor of Macaroni Kid and Director of the nonprofit MPowering Kids, and was a Producer and Writer on WNYC's New York Kids. Her current focus is on the "sandwich generation," exploring the challenges of raising children while caring for aging parents, with a particular emphasis on dementia awareness.
